- No new articles. He only edited existing service pages.
- He added one plain sentence per service with a real customer result, like "cut support wait times by 40%".
- Citations moved within 2 weeks.
Why it matters: AI needs a reason to recommend you. A concrete result gives it one.
What to do: Add one customer result with a number to each of your top 3 product pages.
How long does an AI citation actually last?

- Ahrefs tracked 37,500 AI citations for 20 days.
- 60% of ChatGPT and AI Mode citations were gone the next day.
- 75% of them came back within 20 days.
Why it matters: A daily drop is mostly noise. Pages that rank in Google hold citations longer.
What to do: Track AI citations as a weekly average, not daily.
Can you still see Gemini traffic in GA4?

- Desktop visits still show the gemini.google.com referrer.
- iOS app visits show up as Direct.
Why it matters: If you track Gemini by UTM, you're undercounting.

- 23% of cited pages opened with a direct answer.
- Only 5% of top-10 Google pages AI ignored did.
Why it matters: Answer first, explain after.
What to do: Make sure the first 2 lines of your key pages answer the main question.

- Nobody supports it yet. Microsoft starts Feb 2027, Google early 2027.
Why it matters: Opting out of training is a separate choice from showing up in AI search.
